About Tempstar

Tempstar makes residential and commercial central air conditioners and furnaces. Tempstar is owned by International Comfort Products (ICP), which is owned by Carrier which in turn is owned by United Technologies Corporation. ICP markets furnaces under the brand names of Arcoaire, Clare, Comfortmaker, Dettson, Heil, KeepRite, Lincoln, and Tempstar. ICP is headquartered in the United States.

Product Lines

Tempstar markets high-efficiency central air conditioners under the EnviroMax product name. They market high-efficiency furnaces and mid- and low-efficiency central air conditioners and heat pumps under the product name of SmartComfort. The SmartComfort VS90 is their top-of-the-line furnace in the 90+ AFUE range, and the SmartComfort VS80 is their premier model in the 80% AFUE range.

Quiet

The two-stage Copeland Scroll® compressor operates most of the time at the quieter, lower stage, changing over to the higher stage at higher outdoor temperatures to produce more cool air. A deluxe sound blanket also reduces compressor sound levels.

Durable

The painted, galvanized steel cabinet features a powder-coat, baked-on finish and a coated inlet grille with narrower spacing to provide maximum protection as it allows for proper airflow and easy coil cleaning.

Efficient

The Copeland Scroll® compressor and the copper 7 mm tubing with aluminum fin coils work collectively to save on energy.

Smooth Operation

The two-speed fan motor operates most of the time on the quieter, lower speed. Aerodynamic air discharge design reduces operating sounds. Matching with the variable speed indoor fan allows whisper-quiet indoor operation.

The Comfort Alert® II system has all of the standard Comfort Alert® features. Plus, it can alert homeowners to call for service before a problem develops by working with an optional Comfort Alert® II compatiable thermostat.
